This is a 45% Alpaca 45% Merlino Wool 10% Cotton natural fiber blend blanket that is thick, heavy, and well constructed. I agree with the previous reviewer that it is more substantial than the ‘Thick Military Banderita’ blanket that I also own and that one is great too. I am impressed that it is much softer than a standard wool blanket without being scratchy. It is super warm, but also breathes substantially, so not to be ‘hot’ when using in cool environments. The value of this blanket far exceeds any blanket I have purchased anywhere previously. This blanket has become invaluable to me, as the week I purchased it, a leg fracture has left me quite immobile. This Woven Striped Twin Blanket has been my constant companion now, and has made my time stuck in this chair very comfortable. I usually sleep with only a thin 100% Alpaca throw that is much thinner, though this blanket serves a different purpose to cover, tuck, and prop for superior comfort. When I’m mobile, this will be going to camp this Fall & Winter. Other than a thermal sleeping bag, there is no warmer cover that I would use in a camp or survival outdoor environment. It is just as comfy on the sofa at home. I can not stress enough the versatility of Alpaca wool!! It is wicked warm, yet does not create that hot & sweaty feeling you get with synthetics, as it has breathable characteristics unit to this fiber. Alpaca users already know this (and so do Alpaca)! Admittedly, I am an Alpaca junkie, my winter boots have Alpaca inserts and I use many other products when venturing into the elements and cold. At any price, if you can take one blanket into the woods in any season or need maximal cold weather comfort, THIS IS THE BLANKET!! At an exceptional price, you can pay hundreds more, you won’t find a more functional blanket.
